"The rhyming text is told in first person, with the repetitive, soothing refrain of the words from the title effectively echoing throughout" — Kirkus Reviews

"I love the rhyming text the book is written in, because part of the beauty of poetry is its role in being able to say so much in so few words. The story is also beautifully illustrated" — Scholastic Child Education PLUS

I Took the Moon for a Walk reads like a love letter to the twilight hour. The descriptive language encourages outdoor exploration and knowledge of community. The moon and nocturnal animal facts at the end share nature knowledge with young listeners. This book is a twist on a bedtime story — its beautiful illustrations help tell a tale of adventure while the poetic language lulls little ones to rest and sleep.
