Andrea's Barefoot Story
Growing up, I remember my childhood filled with books —gateways to other worlds—stories of adventure, knowledge, and dreams. As I got older, books became my escape, my way of learning, and, in many ways, my way of understanding the world. For me, books have always been more than just a collection of words; they are a reflection of human experience.
My professional experience in early childhood education has allowed me to be a part of diverse learning environments where language development, imagination, and wonder were front and center. I have also personally navigated the rewarding journey of raising a child with Autism and another with ADHD. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into world’s other than my own. In all of these things, my love for books has grown and I see them now, more than ever, as beautiful tools for creating inclusive and supportive environments for all families and children.
Being a community book seller for Barefoot Books is more than just a business to me — It’s about being part of a community where stories and knowledge are shared, where reading is celebrated, and where people are encouraged to discover more. I believe everyone deserves to experience the magic of a good story or the empowerment that comes with gaining new knowledge.
As a single mom, partnering with Barefoot Books is one way I have chosen to supplement my income to support my family– but more than that, it is a sharing of my passion (and some of the most beautiful I have seen) to help families connect and grow together by finding the books that resonate and inspire, just as they did for me!
