Dear Friends,

And that’s a wrap on 2023! We are incredibly grateful for each and every person and organization that shared in our mission to open children’s hearts, minds and worlds through books this year. We are delighted to see Barefoot Books displayed in so many libraries, indie bookstores and gift stores around the world. One of our biggest achievements was launching new partnerships with incredible literacy organizations.

We are thrilled to bring thousands of Barefoot Books to Greater New York with Reach Out and Read!

In September, we had the honor of attending the Books For Africa 35th Anniversary Gala in Minneapolis! We were so excited to celebrate this longtime Barefoot partner and connect with other global organizations doing amazing work.

After publishing over 1000 titles and distributing more than 30 million books into the hands of children across the globe over the past 30+ years, we are continuing to add exciting and impactful chapters to our entrepreneurial story as an award-winning, independent children’s book publisher. <

We’ve moved!

The Barefoot team is excited to announce that we have moved our office from Cambridge, Massachusetts to the Bradford Mill building in West Concord, Mass. In true Barefoot fashion, we have made the office space our own by transforming the walls with illustrator artwork and — of course — by installing shelves and shelves of books!

As you can see from the video below, our new home celebrates our brand vision and showcases our collection’s vibrant stories from across the globe.<

Ambur Gorman is one of the many who have joined our North American Community Bookseller program to help share Barefoot books with children and families.

She says, “I think that Barefoot just does a great job with helping kids to understand that we all have the right to be here, and no matter what you do, you can make a difference in this world.”

Barefoot Books’ Community Bookseller program offers parents, grandparents, educators and children’s book-lovers the opportunity to run a flexible and meaningful business. And it’s fun! <
